Zolaykha Sherzad: Afghanistan

Designer Zolaykha Sherzad, showcased her latest collection, Zarif Design, on October 23, 2008 at Halvai Soho, 75 Grand Street New York City.

Weaving Cultures was the shows theme, as Zolaykha effortlessly merged traditional fabrics from her native Afghanistan, with contemporary design.

"Zarif", meaning "precious" or "fine" in Dari, was started in 2004 by Zolaykha, a designer and architect. Bright silk dresses, silk-screened with

calligraphies of Afghan poetry, along with women's fitted coat and jackets, is the look of her collection. Please enjoy.
