About Me
My name is Shawn Punch and I do feel that I am a truly rounded people person, whose general and artistic outlook have been shaped by a mixture of different cultures, as well as educational and work influences.
I was born in Georgetown, the captial of Guyana, a former Dutch and British colony in South America; bordered by Surinam (Dutch), Brazil (Portuguese), Venezuela (Spanish) and the Atlantic Ocean (water, water everywhere!).
Guyana is a melting pot of Amerindian, African, British, Indian, Chinese and Dutch influences. These influences seem to have found their way into my passions, particularly in photography and fashion shows with the abundance of colors, glamour, carnival atmosphere and happy faces.
Drawing is an activity that allows me to recreate beautiful images, while I mediate, relax, and concentrate. I have been drawing all of my life, and it's a labor of love!
I grew up and currently live in Brooklyn, and graduated from Penn State University with a BA in Sociology. I've worked as a Manager in Queens Hospital Center for five years with a wonderful group of people who helped and supported me throughtout my stay.
So this site is a digital studio for my talents and my independent venture into the world of art and photography.
